  1. Smooth Zoom Pan - jQuery Image Viewer - JavaScript | CodeCanyon

This turned out to be well worth the $11, given the hassles configuring free ones I’ve tried.

  2. Images | The Public Domain Review

Another useful source of public domain images, aggregating some stuff from other places (‘Sources’ is also a handy jumping-off point), including engravings etc.

  3. Category:Images - Wikimedia Commons

Saving as a useful source of free images. Especially for Little Printer-suitable old engravings, prints, etchings, etc.

  4. Image glitch experiment

Nice JavaScript web-based tool for glitching a jpg image.

  5. Pixastic: JavaScript Image Processing

I keep forgetting the name of this and appear to have not bookmarked it before. “A JavaScript library which allows you to perform a variety of operations, filters and fancy effects on images.”

  6. Adactio: Journal—Image-y nation

One way to do responsive images on web pages for different-sized devices which is very reminiscent of the old LOWSRC images which I’ve been thinking about recently. (via Infovore)

  7. Transm.js (javascript programmable image transitions)

A huge range of transitions that can be added to HTML images. All those things you avoid in PowerPoint.

  9. TimThumb - Image Resizer for WordPress

Dynamic generation of differently-sized images for WordPress using GD.

  10. CONVOY

Not sure about this scrapbook. Some nice interiors and products, but all a bit too tastefully hipster.

  11. THE DAY AFTER YOU DIE

Also quite a good scrapbook, although a higher adolescent incidence of naked ladies (so 40% chance of NSFW).

  12. THEM THANGS

Sorting out my bookmarks, I have a few image scrapbooks like this. Love this one. No comments, just interesting images grabbed from all over. Absorbing. (Occasionally NSFW.)

  13. Jeffrey Friedl’s Blog » An Analysis of Lightroom JPEG Export Quality Settings

Even if you’re not directly interested in Lightroom, it’s interesting to look at the many examples here to see how different levels of JPEG compression affect quality/file size.

  14. Highslide JS - JavaScript thumbnail viewer

Looks good, configurable, etc. And I’m a sucker for that nice zoomy action.

  15. ImageOptim – a PNG/JPEG/GIF optimizer for Mac OS X

Good. To get my PNGs to be the same colour as CSS backgrounds in FF/IE I had to use the PNGCrush optimiser to remove gAMA, sRGB, ICCP and cHRM. Now you know.

  16. Placehold.it - Quick and simple image placeholders

One of those things you didn’t know you needed until you saw it. Very handy. (via Infovore)

Someone looking at different ways to display very large, pannable, zoomable images on the web.

  20. VectorMagic

Nice, free web-based bitmap to vector graphic convertor. (via Ted Mills)

  21. Google Image Labeler

I’m trying not to let this useful game eat up all of my time, although it’s getting a fair amount of it.
