I’d forgotten about alt.2eggs.sausage.beans.tomatoes.2toast.largetea.cheerslove, found in this list of newsgroups from 2000 I guess I read.

@gwire The first had a .sit archive of documents which I have successfully decompressed! But I already had copies of these now-unreadable files.
Quite impressed I could connect this Zip drive to my Mac and read these 17 year old disks. If only they contained anything interesting.
@spaceboy Yeah. I only use it (app on phone/iPad) when I want to read something now and it’s only out in hardback. There’s no pleasure in it though.

I rarely read digital books. Kindle’s “8 hrs and 35 mins left in book 5%” indicator makes for an impressively joyless experience.
