The middle-class future we were always promised has finally arrived - we got a 3D-printed replacement part for our breadmaker.
@infovore Yeah, I just wonder how long these things take to pay off. Often not very. But… the pay off of learning vim may take decades :)
@infovore (semi-serious) Keep track of how much time it’s saved you, and see how long until that fortnight pays off.
@timbailey @phil_wright Yeah. Maybe it’s OK, but only so long as you’re contracting through a large co that will skim some of your pay?
Maybe stop all contracting in the civil service before setting rules for how everyone else should behave? Or is it different?)
(Genuine question, not sarcasm. Seem to be lots of civil service folk contracting through Ltd co’s etc, so clamping down always seems odd.
Doesn’t HMRC itself, and other bits of gov, use many long-term contractors? Or are they different? contractoruk.com/news/0012310le… /via @phil_wright
@russelldavies I can picture the scene!
Places @SwarmApp thinks are real, and helpful, areas of London: Cathedrals, Bishop’s, Weavers, Wick, St Peter’s.
@gwire Also, these new electric cars that cause less traffic congestion than combustion-engine cars are pretty impressive.
