A private respondent suggested 'Adventureland', which sounds promising; en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adventure… Now I must sleep. Night night!
@johndodds Yeah, there were a bunch of gen X movies like that at the time, but they were set at the same time (not period pieces).
@chrislunch Ah, sounds good(?) thanks!
Meanwhile, if anyone wants to make a movie of US teens driving around at night in 1993 listening to grunge, there's a gap in the market.
@jamesweiner @infovore Brilliant, but not a movie :p
Many thanks for suggestions. 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' mentioned a couple of times. 'Diner' also similar too, of course.
@GennHutchison I haven't seen that, ta - I'll look out for it. Good luck with the filming btw!
@Ed209uk Oh yes, we watched that a while back but I forgot it. Ta.
Obviously, the word "similar" literally means nothing any more.
You know, like 'American Graffiti' and 'Dazed and Confused'.
To clarify, I'm not after *any* movies set in a previous decade… Movies set in 80s/90s of US teens driving round listening to music?
@blech And I was more after "American teens driving round listening to music"…
@tedmills Yeah, but similar as in "bunch of teenagers driving around town listening to music"?
I'd forgotten quite how good 'Dazed and Confused' is. "I just wanna dance!"
'American Graffiti' made 1973, set 1962. 'Dazed and Confused' made 1993, set 1976… any similar films set in '80s or '90s but made later?
@jennschiffer If you start make8bitcoin.com you will be rich!
As revenge at America, this year we should do all our Eurovision tweets twice over, time-shifted by three hours.
