Ian Penman reviews ‘Mod’ by Richard Weight · LRB 29 August 2013
This is packed with good stuff. The differences between the fans of trad and modern jazz. Mods as continental modernists, aesthetes. Mods compared to other subcultures. “Tellyology”: shaping history with both eyes on a potential TV series. Ray Davies. Miles Davis. Blur. Noel Gallagaher. Today’s Mod revival as a ploddy “dad rock” conservatism. The British Music Experience.

@tomtaylor @iotwatch @infovore I’ve always thought Newspaper Club’s advertising campaign was unorthodox, but glad it’s still functioning!
Replaced 300ish lines of code with 450ish more complex but theoretically better lines of code. Success!
@infovore @iotwatch Verified accounts and advertisers still can apparently. And FB, Instagram and Twitter URLs work. techcrunch.com/2013/10/17/twi…
That was mean. What I really meant was “@Medium, services.medium.com/unsubscribe is 404ing so I can’t unsub from your emails. Thanks.”
Click the ‘Unsubscribe’ link in a Medium.com email. I see “404. Sorry, but nothing exists here.” It knew why I wanted to unsub!
