PreviousIndexNext American passports and Mexican food

It’s impossible to tell from my site when comments are posted to old entries, so I thought I’d point out a couple of posts that have attracted a large amount of traffic via Google.

First, How many Americans own passports? recently received its 100th comment. The page appears to be the primary source of information on this hot topic, and I’ve long since given up trying to moderate the “Americans are dumb and insular” vs “Europeans are dumb and snooty” slanging. But buried among the tiresome idiots are some people offering more statistics and worthwhile views.

Second, my piece wondering why London has no decent Mexican food has attracted a more modest 19 comments, but recently there have been some good tips. I live in hope that Fred will open his taqueria soon and YESSICA starts a restaurant with “real Mexican food”.

Comments

Not to mention all the people who then go to my page after reading my comment on the Passport page. I get one of these referrers a month.

I'd stopped reading the comments on the passport article around the time that someone implied Linda Ronstadt wrote 'Back in the U.S.A.' (I'm sorry, but that's just offensive), so I didn't realise it had grown to such proportions.

However, I'm sure that for every person who used the article as an excuse to express his/her own prejudice, there are many others who found it useful and/or enlightening.
