    @tomcoates @gwire @genmon @tominsam @blech @mattb It’s a pain to set up on Webfaction. And I don’t know how to do it on my own site because Heroku + Gandi DNS + something about MX records = ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    @tominsam @gwire @blech I mean, look, I don’t see what’s so unreasonable about wanting to go back to when making a website involved FTPing some static files, and the internet was a secret place in which privileged, polite people could feel special, and I was young and optimistic, and, ah, hmmm.

    @tominsam @gwire @blech Probably more that I’m hosting on places that don’t make HTTPS as easy as Dreamhost (Webfaction) or have other possible DNS issues I don’t quite understand.

    @gwire @blech @tominsam You have many good points but this one is baffling me. I still find making my sites https a pain in the arse that I’m convinced will suddenly break at some random point.

    @blogjam Oh, of course! Thanks.

    Some songs that mention the NME and other British music mags from the past and their journalists: gyford.com/phil/writing/2… What have I missed?

    @gwire @dracos OK. (This is so much easier than arguing.)

    @phillmv They already do webmasters.googleblog.com/2014/08/https-…

    @dracos OK. I disagree.

    I feel the same. With this (and AMP) it seems like Google are doing harm to the web, whatever their intentions. That Dave Winer article puts it well. twitter.com/genmon/status/…

    I think this forced "HTTP is unsafe" move by @googlechrome is wrong. It favours big players, undermines the web platform, and won't fix the ostensible issue. Dave Winer puts it well this.how/googleAndHttp/

    @infovore @kierongillen Ha, I noticed that too, when looking for a video for the track, what with the NME news.

    As someone who’s always preferred to get the news via newspapers and never stopped reading them, I smiled at Manjoo’s ‘discoveries’.
